House Cleaning Routine Everyone Should Follow

Did you know that having a clean girl aesthetic isn’t just about looking clean? That comes as no surprise, but are we still on the same page? Because we’re talking about keeping your house clean too!

We know what you’re thinking — chores are such a bother. Besides, why do you have to do it if you can hire a house cleaning service? That may be true, but think about how much money you can save if you just establish a house cleaning routine.

Now, we know that routines aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but that’s why we’re here! Our cleaning schedule will ensure your house remains mess-free at all times. How is that possible? By doing a bit every day. Cleaning every day sounds overwhelming? Read this blog first because it’ll surely change your mind.

Monday: Living Room

The living room is where you spend most of your time, whether with your family or on your own. That means this is where the most trash and dirt accumulate throughout the week. Not only is it time to clean it up, but the whole family can be a part of this activity. Trust us when we say it won’t take more than 30 minutes, depending on how much there is to clean and if you’re doing it alone or with your loved ones.

Here’s what you can and should do for your living room on Mondays:

  1. Use a Washable Duster on all surfaces
  2. Sweep, vacuum, and mop the floors
  3. Vacuum furniture cushions
  4. Clean windows
  5. Tidy up

Tuesday: Kitchen

On Tuesdays, we clean the kitchen! That space shouldn’t be as messy because you prepare food in it, and you want it to be as clean as possible at all times. However, we understand that you can’t always be on top of every single dirty spot. Sometimes we’re allowed to be lazy — but only sometimes.

The kitchen might require a bit more work, but don’t let that intimidate you. That is what’s on schedule for Tuesdays:

  1. Check expiration dates on all foods and toss what’s expired
  2. Clean all appliances and surfaces with All-Purpose Towels
  3. Wipe the cupboards down
  4. Wash the dishes
  5. Sweep and mop the floors
  6. Clean windows if you have them
  7. Tidy up as needed

Wednesday: Bathroom

Time to get a cleaning sponge and get ready for the grossest part of your cleaning routine. Well, most people think cleaning the bathroom is disgusting, but believe us when we say that it will be just fine. You can always wear gloves and a mask during your cleans so you can ensure you won’t inhale or touch anything you wouldn’t want to.

Once you ready yourself, here’s what you should do on Wednesdays in your bathroom:

  1. Clean sinks, tubs and/or showers, and toilets
  2. Sweep and mop the floors
  3. Wipe mirrors and windows down
  4. Toss your laundry into the Mesh Laundry Bag and wash it
  5. Replenish toilet paper, tissues, shampoos, and other supplies
  6. Tidy up

Thursday: Hallways & Stairs

The end of the week is near, but we’re not quite there yet. With that in mind, your hallways and stairs need some love too. You may not think these areas of your home are dirty because you don’t spend much time in them. And if that’s the case, you can do this step every other week. Still, we believe it’s important to keep in mind that dust can and will accumulate in these spaces as well.

Luckily, cleaning hallways and stairs is easy because there’s usually not much to do. So, this is what the cleaning part of your Thursday will look like:

  1. Sweep and vacuum the floors
  2. Dust surfaces
  3. Vacuum any furniture if you have it
  4. Wipe down mirrors
  5. Tidy up if needed

Friday: Master Bedroom

It’s finally Friday! We know you couldn’t be happier about that, but this doesn’t mean the end of your cleaning routine. We know what you might be thinking — at this point, you might as well call a cleaning lady because you just want to relax. But hold on just a bit longer because you don’t have many rooms to go through, right? The master bedroom is scheduled for today, and you don’t want to miss out on cleaning it. This is where you sleep and rest, after all.

So, what should you start with first? Here’s how your Friday cleaning can and should go:

  1. Dust all surfaces
  2. Sweep, vacuum, and mop the floors
  3. Change your sheets
  4. Wipe mirrors and windows down
  5. Tidy up

And if your mattress needs some love and you’re wondering how to clean mattress stains at home, we have a solution. Simply mix dish soap, baking soda, and hydrogen peroxide. Spray this mixture onto the stain, give it some time, then rub them with a clean rag.

Saturday: Other Rooms

What? Cleaning even on the weekend?! That’s right! But this shouldn’t take long because many people don’t have many spare rooms to clean. Other rooms can include your kid’s bedrooms, for example. All you need to do is repeat the same cleaning steps you did in your room, and everything should be as good as new.

If you don’t have any other rooms to take care of, you can always give your back or front yard some love.

Sunday Is Funday!

Finally, you can take a day off for yourself because your whole house has been successfully cleaned. Sure, some parts of it probably became dirty over the week, but that’s why the cleaning routine starts again every Monday.

We know this cleaning routine may seem overwhelming for some, mainly because you’re doing it every day. You can even take this routine and do everything in a single day. It’s totally up to you. But doing it bit by bit ensures that you never get tired or frustrated by the mess. Plus, soon enough, you’ll adopt this routine as just that — a routine.
